Biography
Elizabeth was born in Los Angeles in 1970, however shortly after her birth, her parents moved to Dallas, Texas. Elizabeth graduated from Booke T. Washington High School
for the Performing and Visual Arts, and later earned a degree in acting from Stephens College. She also spent time studying at the British American Drama
Academym as well as six years
at the Dallas Theatre Center, and one year with their Encore Company.
Elizabeth's acting career began on the stage, appearing in many popular productions such as
As You Like It,
A Funny Thing Happened on
the Way to the Forum,
Measure for Measure,
Baby, and
Chicago, amongst many others.
Her first on-screen performance was in 1993 when she appeared in an episode of
Dangerous Curves. She went on to appear in the series
Loving during 1994/95, following up with a 5 episode guest appearance on
L.A. Firefighters, and an episode of
The Sentinel in 1996, the TV movie
Comfort, Texas in 1997, as well as an appearance in the
TV series
JAG.
Her breakthrough performance however, came in 1998 in the much acclaimed HBO TV movie
Gia in which she starred alongside Angelina
Jolie. In 1998 Elizabeth was seen in 6 episodes of
Significant Others, and in
Molly in 1999,
but it was in 2000 that the roles really started coming in.
She appeared in the films
Frequency and
Nurse Betty, as well as the TV movie
The Linda McCartney Story in which she played
the title role of Linda McCartney. She was also seen in 4 episodes of
Time of Your Life between 1999 and 2000.
2001 was a busy year with Elizabeth appearing in
Hollywood Palms, several episodes of the popular television series
ER in which
she played a Doctor, and partner of a main cast member. She also made appearances in several other television series such as
The Beast and
Spin City.
In 2002, Elizabeth appeared in the UK TV movie
Man and Boy, based on the novel of the same name by Tony Parsons, as well as the
popular children's film,
The Santa Clause 2. In 2003, she gave memorable guest appearances in
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, as well as in six episodes of
The Lyon's Den.
2004 saw her appearing in several more popular television series and movies such as
Everwood,
Boston Legal, and
House M.D..
Elizabeth wasn't then seen on-screen until 2006 when she appeared in the movies
Haskett's Chance for TV, and
Running Scared and
The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.
However, 2006 was also the year in which she booked what is probably her most significant and well recognised role to date,
when she was cast as Juliet Burke in the hugely popular and highly acclaimed television series,
Lost.
Elizabeth made her first appearance in the 2nd season of the show and is currently appearing in season 4, which is her third season of being on the show. The
show itself is set to run for 6 seasons in total, however it is unknown at this time whether Elizabeth will continue to appear in the remaining series. What is known
however, is that Elizabeth is clearly one of the most talented actresses in the business today with a fantastic continuing career ahead of her.
